Jan. 26, 2004 - Television
Saturday morning I woke up and the T.V. was totally on the fritz, it gets so blurry and it gives me a headache. I couldnt take it anymore. We discussed the matter and decided to go shopping for a new T.V. We discussed at length what type and we decided (Kevin really pushed for it) that we wanted a High Definition ready. I wasnt really so sure about it, but the more we shopped and asked questions, I was sold. Ok so what size? I wanted big, like 36 and he didnt care. No matter what brand we looked at these televisions were starting at $1,200. We went to three different places, looked at 200 something T.Vs and we decided on a Sony 48 Wide Screen High Definition Projection T.V. This thing has every bell and whistle, the picture in a picture is awesome, the color is incredible and the sound is amazing. But HOLY SHIT! It is huge. Because the T.V. is a monster, we have to change the living room around, and since we are changing it around, we decided to just re-do the living room. The T.V. is coming on Wednesday, so the pressure is on. I have my color picked out, I think. It takes me so long to choose colors. I always think I know what I want, but then I get scared and in this case I think it might be too light, and I want dark but the next color up is too dark. I really want to do the Ralph Lauren suede texture paint. I just dont know. Good thing the Super Bowl party isnt going to be at our house. I would just die. Saturday night we went over to Ed & Jess house. We had fun. Wyatt and Kevin were discussing politics and I have to say, the conversation wasnt going well. It just isnt polite to talk politics in mixed company; it never goes well. I was finding it increasingly difficult to sit through the conversation, which I knew was going nowhere fast, so I retreated into the kitchen. I said to Ed, we need to put a stop to this conversation before Kevin says something that he will regret, I mean Wyatt just told us he is voting for Bush. Do you have any Porn? That will shut them up right? Ed just laughed and thought what a great idea I had. So he walks into the living room, takes out the Pantera movie we were watching and throws in a Jenna flick. Yeap, they shut up instantly and no one said a word. It was perfect. I must remember that trick the next time I am at a family dinner and the conversation gets heated, just throw in a porno; everyone will forget what they were talking about and the conversation will move on! The forecast is calling for ass loads of snow this week. Yippee. Just what we need. It just occurred to me that today is the 26, and that means that Christmas was one month ago, it seems much longer than that. Two months until St. Patricks Day! Wheee!
